Did you know that more than 90 percent of adults don’t consume enough fibre, being at risk of heart-related diseases, low blood pressure and high cholesterol levels?

Luckily, there is an easy solution to the problem! Adding a few seeds on top of your meals is the way forward and with taste and texture, you also gain fibre content! To make it easier, we have named a few seeds below to simply demonstrate how powerful these can be.

Chia seeds and flaxseeds both provide fibre and Omega 3, with chia seeds also containing protein, calcium & magnesium as opposed to flaxseed being rich in vitamin B9. How to use them?

Here is an easy morning recipe to get you started with the right nutrients in place.

- 1 tablespoon of chia seeds
- 1 tablespoon of flaxseed
- 4 tablespoons of oat milk
- 1 teaspoon of agave or any syrup (optional)

Stir all of the ingredients together & let the seeds soak up the oat milk for 10 min before consuming. Enjoy the healthiness of it!

Pumpkin seeds have zinc, protein, fibre & calcium while sunflower seeds contain selenium, vitamin B9, protein, vitamin E & magnesium. Why not buy our multi-seeded gluten free bread and you can kill two birds with one stone? Our artisan gluten free loaf tin is topped up with both of them and you can purchase it here.

Sesame seeds have calcium, iron, magnesium, selenium & potassium and you can find plenty of those on our vegan sesame crackers! They are ideal for dips and salads, offering a crunch, reduced gluten while being free of animal products! Have you seen our listing on Boroughbox? You can easily purchase them there! They’re available in a pack of 3 for £7 and a pack of 6 for £13.50

Hemp seeds are packed with protein, magnesium, zinc & iron and are perfect for a smoothie! Use the protein version of them, for a smooth blend! Do you want a quick and tasty recipe for a smoothie? Here is one of our favourite ones:

- A handful of kale
